2019 Top Recruit Sam Telesa Rising At Aloha

With all the football talk these past few weeks in the Pacific NW focused on transfers (those recruits leaving their teams)  it is time to focus on the equally talented kids who are staying and making things better.  Of course, we are always going to cover the best athletes and do not pretend to know why all kids move, that is their right.  I do blame, however, supposed adults though who influence these same kids with the promise of "more offers" where the grass is greener.  That is total BS.

In that vein, we have been mining talent of recruits all over the NW to present our many readers and college coaches with options.  Kids who stay with their guys are highly valued.  We want to showcase those young guns, even more, this season.

Sam Telesa of Aloha High School will be a Junior this season and his efforts as just a 10th grader on the film below will turn the heads of any knowledgeable Coach watching him lay waste to opposing linemen.  A true Big Body, Sam boasts a frame nearing 6'3" and 300 lbs.  He showcases quick enough feet to get under opponents and strong enough upper body to finish them off.

He is still really raw but with last year as a base to work with and a frame like this we see a bright future for sure.  Like all big linemen, his stature will dictate where he projects best and his mobility.  At 6'3" he could be a power house Center.  If he shoots up a couple more inches that get him looks at Guard.

In his current frame, he fits the mode of a 2 gap D-Tackle who can be a serious run stuffer, something every team needs!  No matter all of that- big Sam has it where it really counts.

His current GPA is 3.8.  That will open doors that only the elite players can hope for.  Schools like Duke and Cornell and maybe even Stanford will be in the mix for a kid with that on his calling card.  This work in the classroom outshines anything he can do on the field and he is to be commended.

We look forward to watching Sam play this year and progress on his path to college.  Aloha is in good hands with a Coach like Bill Volk who is well respected and has a great group of assistants around him.  The Warriors will be looking to improve this season and this is one on many talented athletes that can help them get there.

Way to go Sam Telesa!
