One of the premier linebackers in the Pacific Northwest is Federal Way High school Senior Andrzej Hughes-Murray. It is safe to say he is the biggest and most physical Linebacker in the great class we have this year. At 6’3″- and 230 lbs he is a human wrecking ball and can change the outcome of almost any play. With a handful of D-1AA and some Mountain West offers this kid was bound to land a Pac 12 offer; something that has been almost non-existent for the Class of 2016 these past few months.
Air Force, Army, UNLV, New Mexico, Utah State, Central Washington, Eastern Washington, and Montana have all offered him but the question was would a Pac 12 finally come calling?
Hughes-Murray broke through last night with an offer from the Oregon State Beavers who see what they need at Middle Linebacker in this exceptional kid.
“It means a lot (the OSU offer). But I’m still going to take an official for further evaluation,” said Andrzej. “I just wanna thank God above and the coaches for another opportunity to play this game I love.”
With the UW and Cal closing in he is looking at all his options. Time tells us that OSU is a great place to be a linebacker as several Beavers have excelled and moved on to the NFL off that defense. Something tells me that the Huskies need a guy like this too. His film leaves no doubt that he is a force to be reckoned with and if there is a bigger or more proto-typical linebacker in this class I’d need proof. Congrats to Andrzej on this big offer- he holds preferred walk on sports with UCLA and the Oregon Ducks as well!
