Asan Neil-Evergin Enjoying First Offer Tonight

Tonight is a great night in the Neil-Evergin home in Lacey, Washington.  After a long drive and a long day they are all on Cloud 9 as Asan Neil-Evergin of Timberline High School landed his first official offer.  And it came from the power of the Big Sky in recent years; the Eastern Washington Eagles.

Fresh off his day in Cheney, Washington the 5'9"- 175 pound star athlete was pumped up and called to share the news with us.

"I went to camp after the staff called me and made sure I was coming out.  They saw me at the Northwest Elite Football Camp at Mercer Island and said they liked me and wanted to see me live.  So I went out and went from the morning to after lunch today.  I did offense and defense and overall I thought I did pretty well," said the always collected by clearly pumped up kid.

Then the moment came.

Asan added, "It was pretty cool because my Mom was watching me and cheering me on and she saw the Coaches take me aside and speak to me and they let me know an offer was coming.  So when they walked towards her she sort of knew.  It was a great feeling for all of us."

Now he knows, and all kids and parents should know, that nothing can be put in writing until September 1st, 2013 but it sure sounds official.

"Coach Baldwin and Cherokee said they really like me at Corner a lot.  They also saw me making runs and they basically are saying now they feel it can go any number of ways.  So that is great."

What about Cheney?  Did he like the vibe there?

"You know I did actually.  The town is nice, the facilities are great, and the other guys are awesome.  They are all so positive and truly enjoy being out there playing.  It could be a great fit for me. We have some more stops and some thinking to do too," he concluded.

Now Asan heads to the Elite 11 in Beaverton, Oregon where he has been especially invited out to catch footballs and play cornerback for the Nations Top 11 QB's.  The Elite 11 is the #1 event for QB's in the Nation and is headed up by Trent Dilfer and an amazing staff at Nike Football.  Asan is going to have a blast there and get some more looks too!

After that it is off to Austrailia where he was selected to go and compete in a special Track Event where he will Jump and Sprint for the US team going.  A trip he will have to make on his own this time.

"Man I wish my Mom was going because she and I are a team and she takes me everywhere.  But this one I am doing alone and I think I am ready for it.  The experiences will be just amazing I am sure."

Amazing Mom, amazing experiences, amazing kid.  All sort of adds up to good things in the end!  And the EWU offer is just that for Asan Neil-Evergin and his family tonight!
