Today on Memorial Day we remember all those that have served our Nation over the many years and reflect on what it means to be an American. One young man in Bothell, Washington is giving some serious thought to that today as he is enjoying his first collegiate offer from a D1 program. Sam McPherson, the do it all 2 way threat, has received an offer to attend the Air Force Academy on a scholarship. It comes at a perfect time for the Senior to be as many schools have been circling Sam after seeing him play and his amazing film from his Junior season.
We caught up to Sam moments ago just after the news broke to see how he was felling and he has this to say:
It feels amazing! I’m still speechless, it’s one of the best feelings knowing that a college football team like that wants me to come play for them. The 5 year commitment after college is a lot to think about but I’m definitely very interested at this point. It’s a great program with a great education and you can never go wrong with that.
Sam has many other schools interested and no doubt if he plays the way he can as a Safety and on offense he will have other choices. But that first offer recruits never seem to forget. This was a good move by Air Force and we congratulate Sam on his big day!
