No one knows the team concept more then the Camas Papermakers. Anyone who has seen a Friday Night at Doc Harris will immediately get that. Led by now legendary Coach Jon Eagle this town have become a football machine. They pump out talent and wins every single year and they do it with a team concept and rarely is one of them lifted up as a star.
Each season NWPR has at least 2 or 3 Papermakers on out list of top talent and this season the primary prospect has been their amazing Senior QB Liam Fitzgerald. There are many others and it was time to mention one of them as the now 9-0 Papermakers are heading into the playoffs making a serious run for the Washington 4 A State Championship.
Junior linebacker Michael Matthews is 6’1″- and 200 lbs. His film was sent to us recently and we were impressed. His overall skill set is excellent and he appears to be in on many of the crucial stops needed to consistently win like Camas does. Of all the skills we see here the fundamentals take center stage. He plays heads up football tackling in perfect form (not surprising from a Camas kid) and he has a high Football IQ; he reads each play and reacts very quickly.
Matthews is on our radar and is one of several Papermakers we need to give mention to. We wish them well in their pursuit of another appearance at the Tacoma Dome.
