Liam Fitzgerald may not be the tallest QB in this years class.  Maybe he is not the fastest.  And while he may not be #1 on anyone’s recruiting board yet we believe this kid has that X factor that is so necessary to succeed at the QB spot.  He will be a Senior this year and coming into his 3rd season as a starter for the Camas Papermakers.  He was a big part of the team that ran the table all the way to the Tacoma Dome and lost to Chiawana on the final play in 2013.  That was the same season the team moved up from the 3A to the 4A Division.

In 2014 Camas was thought to be somewhat depleted after an amazing graduating class.  Fitzgerald had big shoes to fill as a Junior as Reilly Hennessey moved on the EWU leaving records in his wake.  No doubt that pressure was very real as the thousands of fans who come to Doc Harris Stadium on Fridays in Camas, Washington expect wins.   Liam had a great season- stellar in fact.  The team did well and made it to the final brackets before loosing to a terrific Bellarmine Prep team 20-13

In 2014 Fitzgerald went for 2,850 yards- 24 passing TD’s and he ran for another 4.  His completion percentage was 68% and his ability to make plays was evident.  The 6’1″- 185 lb QB is a real talent.

In the off season he has made some camp appearances and looked poised and prepared to lead his team.  His mechanics are all sound and his ability to read progressions at the top tier of this group of NW QB’s graduating in 2016.    But it is ability to stay in the pocket and make adjustments even as defensive linemen are crashing down on him that we like the most.  He extends plays with his quick feet and places the football right where it needs to go with a masters touch.  He can also run when he needs to and shows great speed in doing so.

What Liam Fitzgerald does is win.  That entails leadership and skills.  He will no doubt be one of the premier QB’s to recruit out of the NW this season and we think a great addition to any program.  Catch his film below from 2014 and look and find all of his contact info here at our partner site PremierProspect.com.
