We think we know all the top recruits in the Region but we know that is wrong. There are so many top kids that no matter how hard we work we never see them nor find out about them all. The toughest ones to find are from smaller towns and are the guys who stay off the grid in the off season. Take for instance Central High School’s Marlon Tuipulotu. The All State defensive linemen is a one man wrecking crew but because he wrestles and is not a camp and combine guy we had not really caught up to him.
Central High is located in tiny Independence, Oregon just West of Salem and adjacent to Monmouth with is the home of Western Oregon University. We hear about Marlon last season and tried to reach out but came up short. Two days ago we got his Hudl Footage and had a look. What we saw was a Pac 12 or SEC level talent. Humbled we reached out wondering if Marlon had landed offers. His film was the best we had seen for a defensive linemen this season in any NW State; although he plays in a lower level this film is just too good.
Marlon is 6’2.5″ and 280 lbs and is a 2017 prospect. Here is his film- Coaches we recommend you watch it!
The Junior responded to us on Facebook when we asked about offers-
Marlon: Yes, I have recieved offers from Washington, Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State, and BYU.
He holds a 3.5 GPA and is of Tongan descent. The young man is humble and soft spoken but folks on the field he is all business. With two seasons to go it appears we may be looking at the top recruit in the State of Oregon for the Class of 2017.
When we asked him which schools are his dream schools that he would love to play for he said, “Any of these schools would be great, but no I have no school that I would love to play for.”
Fair enough. Marlon
