Chase Cota Talks SEC Offer

Chase Cota Talks SEC Offer

Chase Cota has quickly become the elite wide receiver in the entire NW region.  The South Medford Junior has a handful of offers including Oregon and Oregon State and several other West coast schools have offered him.  No doubt the 6'3"- 190 pound leaper with crazy hands is the real deal.

Vanderbilt University recently offered Chase which was a big step.  It has been a long time since we have seen the SEC out here recruiting a Wide Receiver.  This is just a testament to how good he is.  But what does he think about going back East to play and how did they come to offer him?

"Coach Hankton the, WR coach just DM'd me to call him that evening, and after a little talk he said that they were offering me a scholarship! Alabama and LSU are warming up and I'm  talking to a little and the rest just letters and maybe a Twitter follow and that's it," said Cota.'

Being the descendant of an Oregon Duck great (Chad Cota) we wondered if could seriously consider the SEC and if he would go that far from home?  Is Vandy even an option? And does Chase realize how rare it is to even have an offer from the SEC?

"It is unusual, that's why I feel so proud about it. Vanderbilt has my attention just with the academics alone, I want to go to business school and I know it'd be competitive to get into theirs, but it's like the Stanford of the SEC academically, so to get that degree from there for free would be amazing! I like the West coast feel being from here, but the level of play on the field in the SEC is so intriguing, that I'd definitely love to be apart of it."

Chase has produced his film through 5 games - watch it and find out why he is so hot and may well end up with multiple offers from the SEC as well as the entire Pac 12!  Lest we forget we must always be aware that these day it may be all about the #PurpleReign!
