Colton Richardson Moves To #1 QB

Colton Richardson Moves To #1 QB

I have been on the hunt looking for the most productive QB in the NW.  So far we have written or covered all the best and in the Region.  A few have offers and those guys have all put up good numbers.  But the wow factor has come from a non-offered kid we covered yesterday who we thought was #1;  Nathaniel Holcomb.  With 3,100 yards and 38 TD's we thought we had our guy.

Wrong.  Yesterday we were notified that we missed  one guy.  I am not going to take anything away from what other guys are doing just shine the light in the dimmer crevices of the NW.
Out in Lewiston, Idaho we find a 9-0 football team with a talent in Colton Richardson that is unrivaled anywhere in the NW.  At 6'4"-and 235 lbs.  Colton is an absolute monster.  There is something very "Big Ben" about this kid and it is not just his size.  The Lewiston High Bengals are 9-0 and have beaten perennial powerhouses Highland and Couer d' Alene.   Those two teams are as tough as any competition anyone will face anywhere on the NW.  And Richardson did what he had to do to help his team win.  In fact he all but willed those wins.
The game against CdA featured Colson Yankoff at QB who is committed to the Oregon Ducks and a 4 star recruit.  He looked great.  Richardson looked better leading his boys to a 55-51 win.
Against Highland in Pocatello he went off for 560 yards.  Highland is a perennial powerhouse and these guys win and put D-1 athletes out every year.  This QB folks is the best total package I have seen this year.

Check these Stats:  This puts him at #1 for the Year in the Pac NW
Passing yards: 3,156 yards
Rushing Yards: 245
Total Yards:  3,401 yards
Passing TD's - 39
Rushing TD's - 5
Passing attempts - 273
Comp - 196
Comp % - 72
INT's - 3

He reports having an offer from Idaho.  That moves him way up the list as this years QB Class only has a small handful with offers.  That includes Kaden Jenks of Royal (WA) with a Weber State offer, Tucker Rovig of Mountain View (ID) who is committed to Montana State, and Connor Neville of Wilsonville is for now headed to WSU.  That may change due to off field issues and the lack of production this season.

None of those guys has been tested more than this kid has.  Why would Mike Leech not want this kid?  He is in his back yard and has numbers that dwarf those of Neville and frankly his arm strength, size, stats, and overall toughness are best in his class.

His release is amazing and his hometown humble but tough approach is notable.  He has many fans in opposing coaches and former NFL players too.  He reportedly throws the ball 50 to 60 yards on the run and can absolutely run defenders over.  His speed is listed at a 5.22 but Colton wanted me to know that this is a sore subject with him as that time was at an Elite 11 event where he had rolled his ankle.  He now has a verified 4.8 40 time and in that frame that puts him at the top for his numbers.  Read the entire back story on this most formidable recruit right here.

I am hesitant to put my stamp on any athletes without checking him out firsthand.  This guy has enough film and a 2 year winning record to show me he is a Pac 12 caliber athlete.  He may end up at Idaho and has heard from WSU and PSU among others.  There is no reason that OSU or anyone should not be after this guy.

Coaches all I can say to you is enjoy the show  - it's a wild one!
