Connor Wedington’s Offer One Of Many To Come

Connor Wedington’s Offer One Of Many To Come

His talent was apparent in the off season.  Throughout many drills and events he shined time after time.  Maybe it was just a matter of time before Connor Wedington of Sumner High School landed his first offer.  The 5’11”- 185 lb speedster proved he could hang with the best of the best.  Maybe the the only question was and is how far he will climb.

As the season ended Weddington had much to be proud of.  He was named 1st Team All League Running Back and Corner Back.  He was also named 1st Team All Area DB and the MVP of the 3A SPSL.

He cracked off 2,366 all purpose yards, had 1,713 Yards Rushing, and 26 TD’s.  He had countless tackles and 5 interceptions on defense and showcased his overall skills.

Wedington had EWU in hand and today landed Idaho.  I don’t think it is much of a stretch to assume he will have many offers to come.  With all the HYPE going on with certain groups who call out the next group of kids to play in their All American Bowl or attend their Top 100 Showcase this is real.  Recruiting works like that- you have the talent you get offers.  You don’t you won’t.  This is a really talented kid.  He would be better off just playing and doing what he has been doing.

We ask Connor who else might be close to an offer and he sent this along.

“Washington is very close and Oregon State I’ve been close with also. Schools of interest is Washington, Washington State, Cal, Nevada, Oregon State, Wyoming, Idaho, Boise State, Arizona, Utah State, Idaho State, Portland State, Montana, Eastern Washington.”

When we discussed the season behind him and his team he offered this:

“I’m extremely proud of my team. I feel like we could’ve made a deeper run into the state playoffs but Sumner is an amazing program run by amazing coaches that is coming back next year even stronger.”

Check out his film and see what the excitement is about- that would be  S P E E D.  Congrats to Connor Wedington on his offers and those to come.
