Darien Williams was one star athlete I had not seen live before the NW Stars Camp. The Lincoln High (Tacoma, WA) corner back is 6’1″ – 190 lbs and has all the attributes you want in a big time defensive player. He is terrific on special teams too. His film is embedded below and his coverage became so smothering that teams just would not throw anything his direction. Two early season pick sixes spread the word of his ability.
He is patient and sits in coverage zones anticipating every move the QB and receiver are going to make. This is a gifted athlete with an even more gifted mind and IQ. He senses and anticipates the flow of the play so well that his run coverage is equally as good as his pass. Overall he is right at the top of the NW recruiting class for Defensive Backs in 2016; much like Gavin Crowe of Kamiakin who we covered yesterday.
Here is our interview with Darien Williams from the Camp; he is a great kid to have around and a powerful influence on the field.
