Frederick Cooper Will Surprise People In Week 1

One guy on the verge of big things that almost no one knows about yet is O’Dea High School Junior running back Frederick Cooper.  The 6’0″ – 203 lb specimen has the entire skill set to go all the way.  Lateral and vertical speed?  Check.  Quick feet?  Yes.  Moves to freeze opponents?  Oh yes.

Frederick Cooper Football

Frederick Cooper was a surprise on the day. He carried himself like a pro, was a leader all day, and showed the ability to be the fastest and best athlete there at Camp. A new comer and a 2017 Graduate this O’Dea (WA) transplant is going to wow fans this year and we will be supporting him all the way! An X Factor guy!

His size is perfect and there is a quick twitch explosiveness in this guy that is rare; don’t get me wrong most running backs have that but there is more here with this one.  Cooper has the markings of someone special and maybe it’s my football 6th sense that has developed over the last 2 decades but he has “it”.

Now saying all that means nothing if the kid does not produce and he is fighting some nagging injuries.  It will be up to this kid to show if his Ferrari has the fuel and high performance that it appears to.  The other thing that makes him stand out is that he is a motivator. Every down and every rep he is talking.  Talking to himself and barking out things to his team mates and opponents.  Frederick is having an ongoing dialogue with the game and himself and it comes across as motivation.  Getting spun up in that world if your an opposing defender is a bad idea because as good as he is with his body I dare say he is better with his mind.

These are observations from 2 hours spent with the kid.  And while I never bet if I did I’d put down some chips that this guy makes an impact on the game and on O’Dea football the next two seasons.  It was a pleasure watching him grind and boy can he.  Best of luck to young Mr Cooper as he moves ahead this Fall.
