Friday Night’s Best Week 5: Players Of The Week

It is time once again to reflect on some of the best plays and players of Week #5 here in the Pacific Northwest. As we hit the mid-point of the year we still have some top team undefeated and others struggling to find themselves. No matter where they are from we are here shining a light on the best player of the week. Here are this weeks nominations.

It is time once again to reflect on some of the best plays and players of Week #5 here in the Pacific Northwest.   As we hit the mid-point of the year we still have some top team undefeated and others struggling to find themselves.  No matter where they are from we are here shining a light on the best player of the week.  Here are this weeks nominations.

Oregon: Week 5

  • Forest Broadie–  The nifty running back from Hood River ran for 255 yards and 4 TD's in the big win over St Helens 58-10.  Kid is FAST!!
  • Zach Floyd Tigard:  What more does he have to do ?  He is week in and week out "the man".  Last week he rushed for 268 yards and two TD's and passed for two more in the Tigers win over McMinnville.
  • Colin Meisner– LaSalle Prep:  So this guy is just a pure athlete and we love him every time we see him.   This week in the 19-7 win over #1 Gladstone he rushed for 95 and a TD, caught 97 yards of passes, had 7 Tackles and retyrned 9 punts and averaged 43 yards doing it.  Wow!
  • Billy Nelson- Roosevelt:  The Sophomore RB had 158 yards and 3 TD's on his way to the win and played some great defense too!   46-0 win over Benson.  Rough-Riders Roll.
  • Dan Sherrell Jr RB from Clackamas-  The kid is making a real name for himself.   40 carries for 285 uyards and 5 TD's as the Cavaliers win!
  • Sam Stelk– Canby:  Big Sam had a complete game at QB for Canby throwing for 200 yards and 2 scores and running for 85 yards and two more.  Canby wins 42-20 over OC.
  • Maurice McSwain- Aloha HS Junior:  Providing a great option for the Warriors Mo craked a long 88 yard TD run on a kick Return and caught several long passes for 1 TD.  Kid is Superb – Warriors=5-0.
  • Zack Selland and Wyatt Houston:  Horizon Christian's Dynamic Duo hooked up for 5 TD's and 300 yards to beat Colton.  Both athletes are putting up crazy numbers this year!
  • Braden Phillips- Baker:  The QB was unstoppable throwing for 170 yards and 2 TD's and rushing for 86 yards and two more.  Baker beat Pendleton for the first time in 37 years!  Awesome!
  • Ryan Walsh- Wilsonville:  Man is this kid good.  touched the ball just 6 times for 155 yards and 3 more TD's.  Wildcats Win Again!
  • Richard Ramsey– Milwaukie:  Richard had another big night rushing for 168 yards and two TD's and busted a pass interception to the house for an 80 yards TD and the win.

Washington: Week 5

 

  • Nolan Henry- Union:  Man can this kid play.  Only a Sophomore Henry has the poise and skill set you want to see in a Senior!  13 of 15 passing for 325 yards and a TD and the 56-19 win over Heritage.  Way to go Nolan!
  • Ralph Kinne-Shelton:  We have covered Ralph since Summer.  He does it again with 275 yards and 4 TD's and is a contender for Rushing Champ with almost 1500 yards in 5 games!
  • Ian Humphrey- Battleground:  372 yards passing and 6 TD's showcased why many people think this guy is a premier QB.  The Team wins big to go to 5-0 and we agree 100%!
  • John Nguyen-Bellevue:  The Senior workhorse kept Bellevue perfect with 274 yards and 4 TD's and showed why he is one of the best prospects in the Region.  Great Job John!
  • Branden Curtis-Eisenhower:  The Senior added a powerful dimension to Kolney Cassel's arm with 240 yards rushing and 2 TD's in the win over Davis!
  • Nate Beasley-Camas:  The Junior RB continues to make his case as a top talent.  24 carries for 241 yards in the big win over top rated Skyview!
  • John Norcross- Camas:  The big Senior is a potent weapon for the Papermakers at 220 pounds.  He had 7 carries for over 100 yards and 4 scores and had two receptions for 1 more.  And to think he is a Defensive Player!
  • Mario Gobatto-Blaine:  Mario continues on his record breaking career with another 318 yards,  He is now at 1,330 yards on the season and a record for a single year is within his grasp.
  • Drew Lewis-Eastlake:  The big rangy back is as talented as they come and made it a big night with over 300 yards of offense and 5 TD's.  Big time prospect here!
  • Devante Downs-Mountlake Terrace:  The superb Junior Beat RB had 130 yards and 4 more TD's.  He is so big and so fast his stock keeps rising quickly to the top of the Junior Class.
  • Ryan Fassler-Prosser:  The Senior QB is for real and went for 292 yards through the air and 3 TD's going 23-29.  He is a terrific QB and athlete!
  • Brandon McClung-Central Valley-Spokane181 yards on 27 carries (6.7 yard average) and three touchdowns. Honorable mention – the entire CV offensive line in support of those statistics.  4of 7 linmen are Juniors!
  • Jackie Wood-Cascade Christian-Junior:   Wood had 115 yards and 3 TD's on 5 Carries in the first half to help CC to the win!  Kid has wheels!
