Hawaii Makes First Offer To Jared Goldwire

Hawaii Makes First Offer To Jared Goldwire

Another first tonight as Hawaii moved in and offered Jared Goldwire; the 6’7″ 280 lb monster OL/DL star from Kentwood High School.  Here is a young man who has been sidetracked and denied and hurt and yet he is persevering.  Any other athlete we have covered in the past 15 years with his size, speed, and ability would have had 30 offers by now.  And while Hawaii is not the powerhouse program that others are it is a program willing to pay him to go to college and play football.  And that is a really big deal!

Jared Goldwire Kentwood

Jared Goldwire has landed an offer to play for Hawaii.

He has moved from Lakes, to O’dea, and then to Kentwood and has missed significant opportunity.  This is a start to build upon.  He is capable of becoming one of the best linemen in the history of the State of Washington.  Maybe it is just as well he has not been heralded or hyped up nor the recipient of major offers and awards.  Like most kids his age Goldwire needs to work harder in the classroom but this offer takes some pressure off and at the same time puts some fire in his tank.

Jared Goldwire

Jared Goldwire was very happy to announce his first offer tonight via Twitter!

Jared could follow guys like Zach Banner (Lakes-USC), Joshua Garnett (Puyallup-Stanford), or Walker Williams (Tacoma Baptist – Wisconsin) by ending up at a big time school.  Or he could play at Hawaii.  The great thing now is that he knows he has a shot and this in our view will turn his focus up and only make him more hungry.  He is a guy who can play at the highest levels and we are very excited to see what the future holds.

Congratulations to Jared Goldwire and his family tonight and we wish him the best going forward.
