“Coach Cozzetto came by yesterday to see my coach and the school and we said a few words to each other.  Then today they called and said someone wanted to speak to me and it was Coach Sark and he said they had all watched my film and talked about me and that he wanted me to know he was offering me to play for them after High School,” said the upbeat linemen.

So how do the Huskies rate?

“They are  one of my in-state schools and a great option.  This gives me both WSU and UW to consider and staying in Washington would be a great option for me,” he added.  “My family is pretty split between the two though.”

Like a lot of Washington families the Clarksons have Cougars and Dawgs and the blood runs deep into both Pac 12 schools.  His Mom and Dad were Cougars and his Mom’s side of the family including his Uncle bleed Purple and Gold.  And Drew loves both options.

He is glad the Huskies offered and says he is going to try and get up North to see the Campus and tour the football facilities which of course are going through a major upgrade.

“I know my family would support either decision and I will think about whatever I decide very carefully.”

The Huskies made a great move here and Coach Sark and his guys are really out there making it happen.  This season and the next year or two are going to be big for the Dawgs by all accounts and a guy like Drew would help them or any Team.

NCU and EWU were first to offer the 6’3″- 275 lb Center.  Then Cal made the first Pac 12 offer.  Then WSU and OSU and now the UW.  Not to shabby for a kid from Camas or anywhere for that matter.  He is clearly another great Papermaker from the program that Coach Jon Eagle has worked so hard for.

We picked up on Drew as a 10th grader and took special interest in him 6 months ago bringing him to our prospect watch lists and making sure folks knew about him.  He certainly has worked as hard or harder then anyone to get where he is!

Here is a brief interview we nabbed of him in the 2012 season
