As good as they get! Young Gun! Rising Star! Future D-1. Elite 11 For Sure!
All of these exclamations have been lauded upon Sophomore Bothell QB Jacob Sirmon since he was in middle school. This off season things began to heat up and people who said that this kid was the future at Bothell when Cal bound Ross Bowers left have been proven right.
“One of the best overall talents I have ever seen at his age,” said QB guru Taylor Barton to us this Spring at our camp. Others joined in on that one.
One thing was seeing the rubber hit the road. The 6’4″- 205 lb gunslinger had to prove all this was applicable and we were all feeling confident he would do so. A review of his Hudl Game 1-3 highlights show that he is in fact right in track. He is “that guy” big time schools want. Just like Locker and Heaps and Browne and Eason and many others the Seattle area QB is for real. Standing out in a big way is his vision, his arm strength, and ability to drop under center and flex back into the gun. He can do it all and then some.
Huskies Say Yes Sirmon to Bothell QB
He had 1 offer already- tonight the Washington Huskies made it two. There will be more- many many more. We caught up to Jacob to ask how this early offer from the UW changes his perspective going forward.
“Well with that offer my mindset will stay the same. If anything it will motivate me to work harder to continue to improve and get my self ready for the future. I feel extremely blessed with that offer and know that good things happen to those who work hard, so that’s just what I will keep doing,” he offered.
We went on to ask if he was prepared for the onslaught of attention and recruiting calls that will follow. How will he handle all that?
“First just staying focused on my craft and working on improving my game. But then with all that, I’ll just take it in stride and see where it leads me.”
Tonight we celebrate with Jacob and his family the realization of a dream and recognition of his talent. He may end up at ‘Bama or USC or Notre Dame or anywhere. Maybe the UW will land him and get back to the Rose Bowl. Right now we all get to enjoy he and the Blue Train for 2.5 more seasons and that is as they say “worth the price of admission”. Congrats Jacob! Way to go!
So blessed I have received an offer from the University of Washington. #GoDawgs pic.twitter.com/412Fll6JWR
