JJ Fisher of LaSalle Prep is 4A Overall Player Of the Year

JJ Has the size, speed, and the demeanor and grades to go all the way! One game spent watching him and you realize that he is special. Very special.

2,350 yards rushing, 350 yards receiving, 35 Touch Downs. That is the Wow factor baby! And he was shut down by 1/2 time in many of the games.

At 6′ and 190 pounds he is special. One look at his film will show that. I rarely talk in the first person but I will say this. This kid is able to be an impact at any level.

He has been electric for 3 threes and this year was unstoppable. A perfect record and a Championship speak to that. The fact he is not a 5 offer kid is a mystery. This is the sleeper alert of the year!

In the past 7 years we have watched the recruiting classes come and go. Every year gets more star studded then the year before. The kids are better, teams are better, but we are victims of success.

This week I took 15 calls from parents and kids panicking that they were an All State and All League Player and have no offers. The first thing I say is “slow down and breath”. Once they settle down I tell them the reality of the world.

The Pacific Northwest has become a hot bed for putting out top kids and Oregon in many ways a top State. But we have only 2 D-1 Schools here and they don’t offer more then 2-5 local kids a year in total. PSU is picking up the slack going after another 8-10. But our research shows this is the hardest place to be recruited in the Nation.

That is the main reason why a kid like LaSalle Prep’s JJ Fisher can get to this point of the year and still be looking. One strike against his prospects is that he is a 4A Player. Who cares. He would have dominated at the 6A level too.

Watching JJ Fisher these past few weeks was a treat and it was confirmation. Did anyone stop him? No.

This was a close vote between JJ and his counterpart in Sonny Tupua of Siuslaw who also did all of these things too. But Fisher went perfect.

JJ Fisher is the OregonPreps.com Rivals Overall 4A Player of the Year for 2011. We are very very proud to be able to recognize an athlete of this caliber.
