J’Maka Love Up For Any Challenge

J’Maka Love of Lincoln HS is a special athlete. And he is ready to break out as a Slot / WR and DB after an amazing year as a QB.

J’Maka Love Up For Any Challenge

The young man has some real talent and is showcasing that every time he steps onto the football field.  Last season at Lincoln High School in Washington Love was asked by first year coach John Kitna (yes that John Kitna) to take on the roll of Quarterback.  the then Junior said “Yes Coach” and with no experience went out and threw 25 TD’s and 1,800 yards leading the Abes to a nice season.  He added 445 yards rushing and showed why he is able to change the outcome of a game.

The speedster is explosive, fast, quick, nasty, efficient, and any other term you want to place on a high school athlete.   This season Coach Kitna has his son Jordan back in the QB spot and boy does the Sophomore look good.  This will allow a lot more Love on the field.  J’Maka will move into the slot and to receiver and will be featured at DB too; all positions he is bound to play in college.  He is the best athlete on the field most nights and we can not wait to see his mid season film.

Now 5’11” and 185 lbs. of whip steel has a legit 4.5 40, a 33″ Vertical, and a 4.23 shuttle.  Love is set to tear up the Friday night lights and we decided it was time to catch up to him.  So here is our interview with J’Maka Love of Lincoln High School.

NWPR- J’Maka where were you born?

J’Maka –  Goldsboro, North Carolina.

NWPR-  Ok so when did you move out to Washington?

J’Maka- Back in First Grade.

NWPR- OK I know your moving spots this year– that’s great! How is Coaches son doing at QB so far?  Are you glad to be able to show what you can do out in space at other positions?

J’Maka- Yes I am and he’s doing great at QB!  I feel like were in for a great season this year!

NWPR- OK good to hear. Now your a Senior right?  What about Colleges and interest? Is that happening for you?

J’Maka- Yes I’m a Senior and I have interests from Wyoming, Eastern Washington and Northern Arizona so far.

NWPR-  J’maka what is your best skill– the top 2 things your most proud of as a player?

J’Maka- My ball skills and my quickness.

NWPR-  Ok great– and if I was a coach and was recruiting you and you came to my school what part of your game would we see the most room for improvement– where is your ceiling for growth the highest?

J’Maka- I can improve on route running and following the ball all the way in on a catch.

NWPR- Can your breakaway speed get faster– I mean its fast now– but have you got more in you??

J’Maka- Of course you can never be to fast and yes I’ve done speed training so hopefully it shows on the field and on the tape!

NWPR- Are you a Track guy too?

J’Maka- Yes my 4 x 100 team can hopefully win 3A states and I can place on the podium for high jump!

NWPR-  What’s it like being coached and mentored by a guy like Coach John Kitna? What’s the best thing about it and maybe the toughest part of it?

J’Maka- He’s a great coach.. he expects nothing but greatness out of you and the biggest challenge is how detailed you have to be to everything that you do.  His knowledge of football to me seems endless so I’m running my mind farther than I ever imagined!

NWPR- Tell us about your family– anything special going on or challenging- maybe something people would not know about without asking?  If you can share…

J’Maka – My family has been living with my aunt for about 3 months and you can never tell I’m going through it b/c of my personality.  We just moved into an apartment today so things are looking up again!

NWPR-  That is good to hear.  Tough times are hitting a lot of people for sure.    So lastly- A year from now – if you can be playing for any school– give me 5 schools at any level you would love to play for?

J’Maka- I would like to play for 1) Ohio State 2) Boise State 3) Eastern Washington 4) Oregon State 5) Sam Houston State – to name a few.

NWPR- Great list.  Any position?

J’Maka- Yep!  Any position that will get me out on the field is fine with me!

NWPR- J’Maka great stuff.  Thanks so much for taking time out of your schedule to tell our readers about yourself.

J’Maka- Thank you guys for the help- I will definitely stay in touch!

There ends the Interview and you can bet we will be watching this explosive and dynamic play maker all year and bringing you regular updates too!
