Today between 3 and 4 Pm one of the best Offensive Linemen in the Nation will make his decision. And it is one that could have a lasting effect on the school he choose to go to.
A lot has been said about Joshua Garnett in the past year or two. But no doubt he is ready to play collegiate ball and this decision is potentially Huge!
The country’s second-best guard prospect (and No. 33 player overall, just one slot short of five-star status) will pick between Michigan and Stanford in a ceremony at his school at 3 P.M. PST (6 P.M. Eastern). The gym will no doubt be over flowing with media, players, and his fans and family.
The son or former Washington Husky Scott Garnett is one hot commodity and a very popular kid here in the Seattle/Tacoma area. That makes this event all the more fun for Garnett who set up an Event Page on Facebook and at last count had over 100 confirmations. There could easily be 400 people plus at this one.
Both Michigan and Stanford have done a terrific job recruiting him and his Head Coach Gary Jeffers told our Michigan writer Tim Sullivan at The Wolverine.com that he will be glad when this is over.
“Oh yeah, I’m going to be relieved.” Jeffers said. “I think he will, I think his parents will, I think the ladies in our front office will. It gets to be a little crazy.”
And maybe the most impressive thing of all is his commitment to his grades which are excellent.
“He’s always been a student and then he’s been an athlete,” Jeffers said to Sullivan. “That’s really been his focus throughout his high school experience, and I would say that he carries himself in a very businesslike manner. He’s down to two great schools, and I know that I’m going to be thrilled with whatever decision he makes.”
