Josiah Miller of Oak Harbor Football Tears It Up

October 19, 2011

Talk about it in 3A Football at WashingtonPreps.com

Today we head to the North Puget Sound to take a look at cat quick Oak Harbor High School running back/defensive back Josiah Miller. Last autumn Miller was chosen as a 1st team All-Wesco 3A performer at running back, defensive back, and kick returner. Then in the Spring, the exhilarating 5’9″ 165 pounder qualified for the state meet in the 100 meters, 200 meters and triple jump. He finished 6th at state in the 100 with a
tidy time of 10.96.

As we near the end of the regular season this year, the senior blazer is having a tremendous year for the unbeaten Wildcats.

Miller has spliced and diced his way for 1017 yards on the ground. He is averaging
10.5 yards per carry and has 15 touchdowns rushing.

The lightning rod Miller also has 365 yards receiving and 5 more scores through the airways. Plus, he has a return touchdown as well, totaling 21 scores through 7 games.

3 touchdowns a game is without question getting the job done in a big way!

The jack of all trades Josiah is averaging 18.2 yards returning punts as well. He has 3 interceptions from his defensive back slot and he is averaging 31 yards a kick as the Oak Harbor punter.

2 weeks ago in a 55-37 win over Mt. Vernon, Miller set the Oak Harbor school record when he galloped his way to 6 touchdowns, 4 via the ground and 2 through the air.

He totaled 339 yards of offense on just 19 touches, that folks is flat out shredding a defense.

Miller teams with bruiser Brent Ryan in Oak Harbor’s thunder and lightning backfield. The thunder Ryan is a 6’6″ 225 senior who has added another 1000 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground for the Cats. The 2-headed backfield monster has the Cats sitting at 7-0 on the season and ranked 7th in the state 3A Polls.

Miller and his posse are heading for a giant week 9 showdown with #5 ranked and unbeaten Meadowdale, which should be the war to settle the score in the Wesco 3A league.
