If you talk about kids with size and speed and you don't want to leave out two of the best you better get up to speed on Dre Milton and Kevin Thompson.
Milton is the 5'10" 220 pound bruiser from Lakes High School in Lakewood, Washington has flat out looked superb this Summer. So strong, so powerful, and he has a great motor. The Lancers are lucky to have him.
Milton will be an impact player on both sides of the ball. On offense he has the ability to move the whole pile and get you tough yards. He is a punishing blocker and moreover has some amazing hands; at least from what we have seen. In Play action this guy could prove to be a difference maker on most any night. See His Hudl Highlight Film Here. He is a terrific Linebacker on defense.
He will join Kevin Thompson, the 5'8"-185 pound stud, in the backfield and these two are going to be dynamic. "Smash and Dash" or "Thunder and Lightning" might be the best names for these two.
Thompson was a 2nd Team All League RB last season and went on to be one of the fastest guys in the Region finishing Track Season with a 10.8 PR and finishing in the Top 5 in Washington. He is as dynamic as they come. Watch His HUDL Highlight Film Here!
"Kevin is a guy who can go on to play anywhere. He is a Maurice Jones-Drew sort of player and there are a lot of schools calling in about him," said Lakes Head Coach Dave Miller.
Miller has won almost 90% of his Games at Lakes by our count and has sent several kids to the Army All American let alone helped many athletes get to the Collegiate Level.
"Now Dre is a physical force. He will go on to play college ball and could play on either side of the ball. He is very important to our success this season. Both of these guys are going to be leaders for our team."
Add into that mix the addition of Rhys Gervais at the QB spot, UW Commit Sammie Long who is the #1 WR Prospect in the NW, and speedy Marquin Russell (Offers From Army & Idaho) at the other WR spot and wow… you have a powerful offense.
Milton and Thompson are still looking for their first offers and one has to remember that Running Backs from this Region are not a hot commodity; at least not yet. But Thompson with his premier speed and Milton with those hands and that Raw power can both be a part of the change coming in that area.
Watch these 2 RB's this season and we will cover more on the Lancers Aerial Assault very soon.
Here is a nice interview we caught with Dre Milton at Camp here in Seattle in June.
