Ma’ne Manaea Opens The Door A Crack On Recruiting

Despite having offers from all over the West Coast he stayed on his verbal pledge to the Buffaloes. But a little change in the approach by Colorado has him thinking again about what is best for him.

“They have asked me to grey shirt in the Fall and I just don’t have all my questions answered so I will be calling Coach Embree to talk it out,” said Ma’ne.

A Colorado commit Ma’Ne Manaea is now opening the door a crack to other options.

One of the most versatile athletes in this part of the Country is Lakes High School’s Ma’ne Manaea. The All Area Player of the Year and All State WR and Safety does it all so very well.

There was no doubt to his future as offers began to come in over the Summer culminating in an offer from Pac 12 Colorado. After spending some time there Manaea was feeling the vibe and verbally committed last Fall.

Is he opening it up? Will he look at new offers or other offers.

“I am open to whatever is in my best interest and whatever opportunities there might be. But that does not change the verbal commitment to Colorado,” he added. “The door is open right now a little bit as we talk things through.”

Now Manaea is not calling schools. But he is speaking to those that have called him. Idaho is hot on his trail as is Wyoming. Both have offered.

Add in half of the Big Sky schools and he has 8 or 9 nice offers. But Colorado is a Pac 12 school and Ma’ne is a gamer. A kid who wants to compete at the highest level and he really has a strong bond with the staff there so he wants to work it all out.

“They needed D’linemen and went after 8 top guys. They got all 8 plus one and that led them to the discussion with me as a grey-shirt player,” he said saying the team needs help up front and that he totally understood.

The likes of Oregon State, Boise State, and Washington State have been in contact on a regular basis and for anyone familiar with Ma’ne it is easy to see why. He really is that special athlete you can count on to help your team in so many ways.

He is hitting the books and working out and will begin to train for Track soon. While signing day is still a few weeks away it is hard to see how any team could find a better recruit then Ma’ne Manaea if they truly needed a top athlete to come help to build a program.

Best Wishes to Ma’Ne in his decision.
