NW Talent On Display At PSU Spring Game – Local University Powered By Local Kids

You will want to be a PSU Viking fan if your from the Pacific NW and you are a football player, Coach, Admin, or Parent.  The reasons are many but among the primary one is the undying level of commitment that the Vikings have had to the boys form the Pacific Northwest.  Of course being located in the second largest city in the NW the Portland State Vikings should be recruiting local kids.  But they do not have to at the level they have been as there are enough kids in California and Texas who can play at a high level that many teams seem to lean that way.

The reason the Vikings, along with many of the other Big Sky Schools, recruit so hard locally is that they know how good are kids are.  No one State has better athletes then Oregon and Washington do; add in Montana and Idaho and a winning team can be built around that talent.  EWU, Montana, Montana State, and Idaho State have this same philosophy.  Being at the PSU Viking Spring scrimmage was like old home week for us as we saw a multitude of players we have covered in the past few years.

Here is our Photo Album from yesterday at the PSU Spring Gamen.  Many of these guys walked on and earned their way to a full scholarship.  Others came in on one.  The fact remains that Nigel Burton and his staff are staying on the hunt for Top NW talent and several top recruits were in attendance yesterday as well.  If you are a prospect and want your shot get to a visitation or be in touch with the staff at PSU.  That is the best thing you can do to stand out.
