Good Morning Everyone! It has been a wild week no doubt! There are several really interesting stories out there this week- just showing High School football is a place to shine and to have politics and life itself played out. Here is my Thursday report from the Wild NW!
- Lake Oswego forfeited a game after Head Coach Steve Coury decided to hold his guys accountable for behavior and tam code violations that took place at the start of the season. Good move Coach!
- Coach Masaki Matsumoto was featured on ESPN E60 and it was a great piece. We covered that and his love for his kids – he is now at Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington.
- Head Bremerton High Coach Joseph Kennedy has decided to refuse an order by his Superintendent to stop praying on the 50 yard line- something he has done for many many years. This thing is heading for a law suit and we are with the Coach and his guys- pray whoever you want to on the field. It is a place that needs prayers right now! This should be electric as he steps to mid field to violate the edict handed down from his employer!
- Olympic High Linemen Keith Moore landed a nice offer form EWU – he is a top prospect on our lists.
- Elijah Lugo of Graham Kapowsin landed an offer himself from the NAVY Midshipmen! The 6’4″- 285 lb Tackle/Guard is proving he has what it takes to win!
- BRUCE BARNUM LANDS 5 YEAR DEAL– Football Coach Bruce Barnum is no longer “interim” at Portland State. The announcement of Barnum’s new multi-year contract at PSU was made at 9:30 this morning to the Viking football team at the conclusion of practice by Director of Athletics Mark Rountree. It was a popular selection as the team leapt to its feet, cheering, then began chanting “Barny Ball, Barny Ball!” – the team’s slogan for its style play and a take-off on Barnum’s name. “It is my privilege to announce that Portland State has signed Bruce Barnum to a multi-year contract,” said Rountree. “Coach Barnum has proven he can lead our team to compete at the highest levels, and is committed to developing student-athletes to be successful for the rest of their lives.
- and Skyline QB Blake Gregory just landed his first offer from WEBER STATE! Way to go BLAKE!
