Oregon Ducks Break Tradition As Top Recruits Flock To Biggest Camp Of The Year

The biggest camp of the year every year for our NW recruiting hopefuls is the Northwest Elite Sports Football Camp.  It is slated this year for JUNE 6th, 2014 at the StarFire Sports Complex in Tukwilla, Washington.  If you are a serious football recruit and can be there you have to be.  The Oregon Ducks have not left their nest in many years for any camp.  They just as a general rule do not go to camps preferring to stay in Eugene, Oregon and have prospects come to them.  In a really big move they have committed to join the now 30 Universities and Colleges who will be in attendance to Coach the high school prospects in attendance.

Almost 750 kids made it out to Mercer Island High School this past year for the NWEFC Camp and boy the action was hot!

The NW Elite Football Camp has earned our 5 Star rating for a number of reasons.  Let’s review the criteria we use when making recommendations to any camp or clinic and  be clear as to why we have made that decision.

1:  Are College Coaches In Attendance?

YES! More then any other camp we have ever seen in the NW.  In fact this is one of 2 or 3 camps period that have multiple schools at them.  This Camp had 140 plus Coaches from most of the Major D-1 Programs out West and then some.  It would costs thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours to go to college camps and be seen by this many schools.

2:  Will Major Media Be There to cover the Athletes?

YES! Rivals and Scout are always there and many other media outlets typically attend and take pics and do interviews.

3:  Is the ownership credible and properly vetted?

YES!  Most camps or combines do not have the credentials.  The managers have not played, the ownership has not passed or presented background checks, and the camp seems all about the $$$.  In this case Cole Morgan and Eddie Behringer- the owners – are local guys who played youth, high school, and collegiate ball here in the Northwest.    The camp was founded by Jason Gesser – WSU great and the rest of the staff are all top notch guys! The Safety of players is looked after big time with trainers and first aid there.  Even at non-padded camps we see big time injuries.  The management of this event is smooth and efficient!

4:  Is the History a Positive One?

YES!  For 7 years we have attended the camp and for 7 years the camp has delivered the best Coaching and recruiting upside at one camp we have seen.  Each year after the camps MVP’s  and top performers are announced a large number of offers are made and many kids are invited to come to Junior Days and Summer camps by the Colleges in attendance.    Last season we saw 20 athletes receive scholarships within the brief period that followed.

5.  Does everyone get an equal shot?

YES!   Everyone Pays – even if you do not realize it many camps offer a waiver for top talent as they attract more paying customers.  Not so here.  We have not ever heard of anyone getting a pass.  The cost is affordable and fair to all.   Beyond that each year many kids who were no-names came and conquered.  The big time kids that come will get no special treatment.  Those of you wanting a stage to prove yourself have a big one here!

For these 5 Criteria the camp scored a 5 out of 5.  Therefore it is the best Camp in the west overall.

With Oregon coming and over 200 of the top kids in the West coming to compete already you can bet that 2014 promises to be the best camp yet for the Pacific Northwest!

We have no affiliation to the camp beyond our friendship; rather we are so tired of camps that take advantage of our NW kids (which appears to well under way already this year) that we hold in high esteem those that do not.  This is one of the best and a 5 Star Camp!
