It was an amazing year in the Pacific Northwest for Football Recruiting and years of increasing interest finally hit a crescendo. OregonPreps.com followed dozens of Oregon’s best this past year as we usually do and we knew this would be a great class but we had no way to know early on it would turn into the deepest class ever.
As we close our 2012 National Letter of Intent
War Room today we are pleased to announce the signing of 36 D-1 or D1-AA Scholarship athletes from the State of Oregon. That is a 100% increase from a year ago when we settled in at 17. This will put Oregon at the top of the ratings in terms of the number of athletes placed into college based on population.
The really great news is that dozens of All State and All League athletes who did not make this group are moving on to play collegiate football at the other levels and that frankly is just as important! This is truly an amazing class.
In our 8th year working with Rivals.com and OregonPreps.com we know that we have made a difference and that we have helped tell the story. No one has written more articles or produced more content then we have. This season we passed the 3,000 mark in terms of stories, rankings, and prospects we have covered. It was also the first year we have taken our instate prospect lists, added links to Hudl and youtube footage, and mailed all of our State’t top kids information to every coach in America. That we did monthly and for Free and the response from Coaches was overwhelming with many “thank yous” sent our way. It was the least we could do for the kids of the Pacific Northwest.
Here then are the 36 athletes we have tracked so far who have signed with a Division 1 Program and who received a scholarship in doing so. Please notify us at dirkknudsen@gmail.com if we left anyone off and look for our report on the other kids who signed in the next few days!

This is 37 Division 1 Athletes on Scholarship which is the most we have ever had in the State of Oregon. Recruiting in Oregon has been on a steady increase in recent years and this is a continuation of that trend. Having said that this Class of 2012 will be remembered not only for its top tier players but for the depth of the class Overall. |
