Well it has been a very wild year in the Northwest Prep Football playoffs as the run for the Championships and the Second Season is about to begin. In Oregon the play-in games are done and the brackets are ready using Oregon’s OSAA computerized system which factors in power rankings and all sorts of metrics to create what they hope is the perfect bracket. In Washington the traditional pre-determined brackets based on League Champions and finishers is used and they enter their play-in and cross over week this Friday to finish their placements.
Idaho has their football Brackets set as well for High School and those games are all ready to roll! As does the great State of Montana.
In Oregon the Top 4 teams without much debate are placed in the 4 brackets. This system prevents a #1 rated team from playing a #2 etc in the early rounds. In Washington both #1 Camas and #2 Skyline in the 4A Division are on the same side of the Bracket and there will be no #1 VS #2 State Championship; that is one example as to why a majority of the Oregon football faithful like this Oregon system better. It is not perfect but seems better then the alternate.
More info coming but right out of the gate we have some Huge match ups!
