Over in the Yakima Valley looms one of the states best unknown diamond gems in slick fielding Prosser shortstop Kyle Kilian.   Kyle is a four year starter for the mighty Mustangs hardball nine.  Kilian started as freshman in center-field  because of upperclassmen, the jack of all trades moved to the 2nd base slot as a super sophomore.
Last spring Kilian broke lose for the big red machine at Prosser earning first team all league honors at shortstop.  He roped the ball at a .519 clip and clubbed 18 runs batted in.  The rocket tossing right hander has become the Mustangs shut down closer in late innings on the mound.

How are the Stangs doing this year?  Prosser is having one of its best seasons in recent history, sitting at 14-4 on the season.  Kilian has had some monster games to lead the Mustangs.  He went 2 for 3 with a double, a run batted in and 2 runs scored in a 6-1 win over Ephrata.  He also erupted for 3 hits and 2 rbi’s in a 15-0 blowout of Toppenish.
Kyle is not just a hardballer, he is also a master on the hardwoods as well.  Kilian was a 3 year varsity player for the Mustangs.  The smooth as silk sharpshooter was a 2-time Honorable Mention all-conference performer for the Stangs.
According to both Prosser basketball Joe Prior and baseball coach Kevin Cole Kilian is a coach’s dream, a silent leader, who never misses a practice and who goes as hard at practice as he does in ball games.   Both coaches say when he does speak up about something…teammates listen!!   Bottom line, this kid is a workhorse that you can’t teach…the real deal.
The 6’1” 175 pounder is currently heading to Big Bend Community College to continue his baseball career. He is hoping that will catapult his career to bigger and better things.
