PSU Grabs Best Sleeper Of The Year

PSU Grabs Best Sleeper Of The Year

About a month ago I heard about a huge kid down at Churchill High School who was really off the radar but rumors were he was a legit D1 Talent.  It took a while for me to track down Luke Wilson but I finally did it.

There he was flying down the court against Crater High and KDVR reporter Brian Schnee was there to catch a thunderous dunk with both hands- Watch this!

Luke Wilson 550

We wanted to know more. We made it over to his HUDL film and this 6’5″ 225 lb athlete shows on the film that he is special.

It has been a long long time since I have seen a kid this big and powerful who does not have 3 or 4 stars,  Getting to the bottom of it we found out Luke is a football unknown of sorts because he only played this past year and based on the film he nailed it.

Wilson played WR and some Corner back.  His upside is really high.  So the word began to spread as his coaches called around and that led OSU to gain some interest and the PSU Vikings to step up and make a recent offer.

Luke is close to recent Viking commit and fellow mega sleeper recruit Nicolas Ah Sam out of Springfield High and it looks like Coach Barnum and the Viks are landing a dynamic duo in these two .  Wilson recently made his verbal commitment.

Luke Wilson (left) and Nicolas Ah Sam (right) appear to be headed to PSU together and that could pay dividends for years to come.

Next to Cade Otton of Tumwater (UW) this cat is the biggest fastest recruit we have seen.  No one else has this size and package so the Viks getting him is huge.

Consider this- Cooper Kupp out of AC Davis High in Yakima is very close to a first round draft at WR this year and Kendrick Bourne of Milwaukie HS appears to be on his way to being drafted too.   Both of these guys were under rated lesser knowns and are both going big.

Oregon and Oregon State will not have a recruit go as high as Kupp – and maybe not as high as Bourne.  So for Wilson and Ah-Sam this Viking fit is a good one.

“Lucas is a hidden gem. He would be a 4 or 5 star recruit if he played football his whole career. He is a great kid, he is coachable, and no one in the northwest has his combination of hands, size, strength, speed, and athleticism. He has all of the tools to potentially play in the NFL someday” AJ Robinson – Head Coach

Great stuff everyone! Great stuff indeed.
