The best QB in the State of Oregon seems to be hotly debated every year as we are known for putting out several top prospects. The 2015 season however has a clear leader in Beaverton High School’s Sam Noyer. The 6’4″ Beaver can throw that pill around and boy has he improved a lot in this off season.
Physically Noyer is bigger and is getting thicker. From the standpoint of making great reads and checking off his receivers in progression he is at the top of the heap. Sam has worked his butt off in the pre-season and despite playing baseball has found time to work on his game at the Barton Football Academy.
Nothing is a given and he knows the game coming from a football family. Patience in the recruiting process is a must and networking crucial. All of that and more Noyer has done staying in touch with several FBS schools like OSU, Oregon, Colorado, CSU, and the UW Huskies.
His film is listed here from his Junior year. Great film will showcase great talent and that is exactly what happened for Sam this past week.
Colorado Coach Brian Lindgren saw that film and wanted to see more. When recruiting opened up in the past week he made a trip out to Beaverton to see Sam throw. What that did was bridge the gap from recruit on paper and film to real world talent. Talent that we have felt for some time was Pac 12 ready. Aparently Lindgren saw all he needs to see and with QB’s on the West Coast running thin this year they made their move.
Sam Noyer will be calling us for an interview tonight but in the mean time we want to congratulate him for his offer from the Colorado Buffaloes! That is a fine opportunity and probably the first of many such offers. He and Washington star High School QB Jacob Eason (#1 recruit in the Nation and Georgia commit) are proving once again that the NW is a hotbed for talent; especially at the QB spot.
