We have written and written on this 2015 QB Class out of the NW and wondered if there were enough offers to go around in the next 12 months for all this talent. Several of the top candidates have landed offers and now another joins that list. Sunset High School Junior Willy Pflug was offered by the Eastern Washington Eagles a full ride to be a Quarterback in their pass happy offense. This could be a perfect fit for Pflug who has a laser arm.
Willy Pflug Lands EWU Offer
Last season Willy threw at an accuracy rate of near 72% and amassed almost 2,900 yards and had 35 TD’s. So this offer was a smart one in our view by Head Coach Beau Baldwin who is just great at finding and developing talent.
Today we caught up to the young Apollo and asked him about the big day.
“I went up to their spring game a couple weeks ago and was treated very well by the staff and the players and was shown around the campus. At the end I talked to coach Baldwin and he told me that they were really close to offering but wanted to evaluate some game film. Last night Coach Baldwin called me and told me that he watched that game film and thought I would fit very well into their offense and offered me,” said Pflug.
So how does it feel to know your going to play on Saturday’s and have the chance to play for a program of that caliber?
“I’m very excited about it. It’s a great feeling to know that a program with the tradition of having great QBs believes in me. Eastern Washington has a successful program with a great group of coaches and a great energy amongst them and the players. The campus was great and the facilities were really nice,” he added.
Willy will generate more interest and probably some other offers. This one is a good however. Believe it when we say we will be pulling for this kid all season long! Congrats to Willy and his family and the Apollo’s who are so well coached by Faustin Riley and his staff.
