It was a double whammy type of day for super recruit Jacob Eason of Lake Stevens High School. The 2016 QB prospect is so hot that one could say he has boiled over. The 6’5″- 210 lb Eason has 13 offers now making him one of the elite QB’s in the entire Nation for 2016. Today that case was further supported as 2 more big time schools have moved in on him.
Jacob was offered by Michigan and Notre Dame today leaving only a small handful of premier schools who have not offered him. Both programs have been looking at him for some time and made their move today.
“It was a great day for Jacob,” said Tony Eason. “My Dad (his grandpa) is smiling today because he is a huge Notre Dame fan and of course I am an alumni. So this is a great day in that regard. ”
Tony was a wide receiver there at South Bend and remembers how proud his Dad was of the school and the team and the fact he was able to play there. Having lost his dad in the near past he knows today means a lot. Having said that only Jacob will be able to decide where he ends up and with schools like Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Miami, Florida State, and Oklahoma State offering him already there is no way to know how this story will end.
Michigan came onto the scene recently thanks to NW native Coach Doug Nussmeier who took the job vacated when Al Borges left. Coach Nussmeier us a graduate of Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, Oregon and has an amazing career as a QB in College and the NFL as well as a most impressive coaching resume. He came in an offered the kid they call “Skinny” today as well making a bid for the youngster to play for the Wolverines.
“He has a lot of thinking to do and in all likelihood he will have a decision made by early next year,” said Tony pointing out that the Nation’s most highly sought after 2015 QB’s are already off the board.
Jacob has not cooled off but only USC, Texas, Stanford, Oklahoma, Washington and maybe Oregon appear to be schools that might have a shot at him who have not yet offered. It is remarkable how early this all happened for Eason but again this all goes back to his 10th grade film and an arm that is so powerful that it is clearly undeniably great. Being 6’5″ and fast and having great football skills and IQ help too.
Next week Jacob is heading to the Rivals Under Armour National camp finals and this will bring the best of the best to once place at one time. This might be the last showcase camp Eason every attends. As previously reported he has not only been nominated but invited to play in both of the major All American Games in 2016.
Truly remarkable! All we can say is WOW! This might be the all time hottest recruiting story to come out of the NW and he and his football family are doing an amazing job of handling the entire process!
