Titan’s Lochlin Deeks Looks to 2011 Season

Titan’s Lochlin Deeks Looks to 2011 Season

Big things are happening for stand out Defensive End/ Outside Linebacker Lochlin Deeks (6-4 255 DE/ SLB Jr.). The West Salem All Star, currently ranked the #4 recruit in Oregon, is the highest ranked athlete in the state without a D1 offer. It’s very early but Deeks mail box has become full and he is starting to have the phone ring on a consistent basis. The Unanimous First Team All League D-end (09′, 10′) will be making a position switch and lining up as a Strong side Linebacker.

Deeks recently attended The Army All American Combine in San Antonio where he made his presence known winning three of his four one on one events. His NFL genes always peek people’s interest and his upside is through the roof.

A very humble Deeks says, “Im interested in the schools that show they are sincerely interested in me, I would seriously consider committing early if I felt loyalty from a specific school.”

Five PAC 10 Schools have taken the initiative thus far; Oregon, Oregon St, UCLA, Washington, and Stanford have been the most proactive.

The Ducks Steve Greatwood has been in touch with Deeks and they have expressed their interest.

The Beavers Jay Locey has also let Lochlin know they would like him at Spring Practices to meet the coaches.

UCLA would like to have Deeks down for Spring practice as they continue to follow his progress and Stanford has recently requested his transcripts.

Deeks is currently part of the Track and Field team where he is working a lot on his speed. His mechanics are fine tuned and light years ahead of most competition. Washington expressed their interest and let him know they wanted to see his 40 time drop.

Other schools that have contacted Deeks include, Idaho, Nebraska, LSU, Florida St, Washington St, Boston College, E. Washington, Harvard, and Princeton.

Deeks is one of the most like able kids you are ever going to meet. His ability to lead is one of the most profound qualities about him. He gives West Salem a shot a state title in 2011′; something the Titans have been close to doing before.

Highly respected Head Coach Shawn Stanley has a full arsenal of athletes back next year including 5 legit D1 Recruits. (Deeks, Brenden Shaffer (6-2 190 ATH/QB Jr.), Brendon Hansen (6-1 215 RB/LB Jr.), Carl Kreitzburg (6-3 275 OL Jr.) Yale Offer, and Matt Sommer (6-4 290 OL/DL So.).

We expect a hand full offers to come Deeks way in due time. He is one of the most gifted Defensive players Oregon has had in the last decade and we expect nothing but good things from this superstar from Salem.
