Since 2014 we have been inside on the coverage of Central Catholic’s Tobe Okafor. The big man showed signs of big time talent as a Sophomore and never took his foot off the gas pedal after that completing 2 seasons as one of the best in the West along the line. Once thought to be the top O-Line prospect in his class he saw just as much if not more action along the D-Line on his way to 2 State Championships.
This kid can play either side and we love his flexibility, core strength, and the fact that he is still getting better. His ceiling is way way up there. Congrats to one of the truly great linemen we have worked with during this cycle and we wish him a long and healthy career at the US Naval Academy and beyond!
We asked Tobe about his decision- why he was deciding on NAVY and what his positional prospects looked like.
“As of now it’s for defensive line, but they are looking at me for both. Education has always been a big thing on my radar, and had the most influence on my decision. I want to attend a school with a great balance of both education and athletics. And I think Navy is it. They had a very successful season this year and only look to be improving. My official visit there was the deciding factor, it would have been really hard to walk away from all the opportunities the academy presents.”
Extremely blessed to announce I have committed to the United States Naval Academy!!! ⚓️
