Breaking News tonight from a top 2017 recruit up in Washington that will make some waves. Sumner High School star athlete Connor Wedington was visiting the UW unofficially and apparently was offered and accepted. The declaration on FB and on Twitter provided some pics and a window into the event. Clearly the family is dialed in a Dawgs and the pics of Connor and the staff show mutual excitement.
All of this for good reason folks. NWPR was first to cover this young talent 2 years back and we have been close to his recruiting. He is so fast and so fluid and his ability to stop and go and change direction can be jaw dropping at times. Catch our July story On Connor Wedington here- where we predicted this sort of outcome.
Budda Baker – that is who Wedington reminds us of. And that is saying a whole lot. That analogy has never been offered here at NWPR because there is only one Budda Baker. This appears to be a terrific fit for both sides and while we await some response from Connor, who is no doubt being barraged with interview requests, we offer a heartfelt congrats to all involved.
The really great thing now is that Connor and his family can relax and enjoy his Senior year and really focus on the rest of his High School experience. In this day and age of “More is Better” High School football recruiting it is refreshing to see a kid get what he wants and lock it down. Both sides appear very happy with this decision. More to follow on this one!
