We did a piece on the Shorewood baseball team to kick off the baseball season, we now focus on the Thunderbirds star 1st sacker Trevor Mitsui and his incredible start to
the hardball season. Mitsui has his T-Birds sitting at 5-0 in Wesco conference play and 8-2 overall on the campaign.
Trevor went 4 for 5 at the dish to go with a double and an RBI in his last game, a 6-2 win over Oak Harbor. Mitsui is currently pounding the ball at a .739 clip, he is 17 for 23 at the plate.
He has 8 homers, 14 ribbies, and 12 runs scored on the season thus far. That boys and girls is absolutely getting after it.
The University of Washington commit
dubbed the “Big Show” has also been walked 15 times, prompting the Shorewood coaching staff to move him to the leadoff spot.
Mitsui is a 6’5″ 230 pound big bopping 1st baseman-3rd baseman for the Birds. He is already a 2 time 1st team All-Wesco selection on the diamond.
He was also chosen 1st team All-State 4A following his sophomore and junior seasons.
The Thunderbirds are now doing their damage in the 3A ranks after re-classification. With Mitsui’s red hot start, and the T-Birds standout flame throwers Kevin Moriarty and Blake Snell on the bump, Shorewood should have a strong late season push.
