Trey Adams Breaks Through With Early Offer

Trey Adams is a big kid for sure. But that is only part of the story of the 2015 Prospect from Wenatchee. He is indeed a terrific football Player!

Trey Adams Breaks Through With Early Offer

Trey Adams is a big kid.  And like most big kids he is easy to spot and easy to discuss when it comes to projecting who can make it big in the College recruiting game.  But insiders know that being big is not really a huge advantage unless the kid can move.  Trey Adams1

Wenatchee High School where the 6'7"- 275 pound Offensive Tackle plays is a great place to play High School ball and to grow up.  And in just the last couple of seasons the Panthers have come into their own in the recruiting world with 2013 grad Cody O'Connell (6'9" 350 lbs) heading to WSU as a big time O-line prospect and this years phenom Isaiah Brandt-Sims just committing to Stanford as a RB/ATH.

Trey Adams showed up at Mercer Island for the NW Elite Football Camp and proved that his massive frame is not just that. No sir Trey moved very well, has great fundamentals, and he held his own against the best upper classmen when the line battles began.  At the end of that camp we named him a First Team All Rivals Linemen for the camp and we went on the record that Trey was and is a Pac 12 caliber linemen.

All of that came true a couple of days ago.

"Coach Clay McGuire of WSU saw me at the NW Elite camp and called to invite me to WSU for a one day camp.  I went and it was great.  We trained hard and got a lot of reps and I took as many as I could get," said Trey as we spoke by phone.  "The bottom line on that was right after the Camp Coach McGuire offered me a scholarship when I graduate."

Only going into his 11th grade season this was a lot to take it but it felt great according to Trey.

"It's amazing.  Really I was feeling good about things but the offer was a surprise.  I am really blessed to have the opportunity," he added saying he saw his former team mate O'Connell watching as he worked out.

He is not sure but he think Cody might have put in a good word.  The rest he did by showing those fast feet and tenacity.  He also met Mike Leach and says he enjoyed that and the entire WSU experience.

Boise State, ASU, Oregon, the UW, and OSU are all in touch and as he adds size there is little doubt many if not all of them will take a run at landing the Wenatchee giant.  He is only going to get bigger and better.

"Coach McGuire said he wants me to come in at about 300 and keep my conditioning and I think that is perfect for where I am at right now.  I am going to do my part to train hard and be ready to compete after High School."

Trey's Sister is heading to Seattle-Pacific University as a Heptathlete  and is a very gifted athlete in her own right.  He did say that he is not tied through family to WSU or UW directly and that his Dad went to Vanderbilt.  So finding the right home is up in the air but being pretty close to home at Pullman would "be really nice" as he put it.

The Cougars are smart to get after this kid.  Who knows where things will go from here but it is clear he is going to be a hot prospect and did himself a huge favor getting to these events and showcasing his skills.

Trey Adams is a top prospect for 2015 and has been on our highly reviewed list for a few months now!  We will stay close to Trey as the next couple years go by and he has promised to keep us all updated on what is happening with himself and the Wenatchee Panthers who should be in for a terrific season this year!
