Watch the Tim Tawa Sunset At Noon

Today at Noon at Providence Park you can enjoy the Sunset of the best Quarterback who has ever played the game statistically in the History of Oregon.  Tim Tawa, the West Linn Lions Senior leader, has broken almost every record that has ever been set in the State of Oregon and he has done it in startling fashion wowing crowds night after night since his first start as a 10th grader.

The Stanford baseball commit could have offers from the entire Big Sky and most of the Mountain West conference but declared 2 years ago that he was going to attend Stanford on a baseball scholarship.  The cerebral student of the game has all the mechanics and ability to be a next level guy.  The only thing he lacks to be a proto-type D1 QB is height and yet he has the same skill set as Vernon Adams and others.

There has been too much debate about Tim and if he could play QB at Stanford.  That I think is a decision he will have to make.  But this is a young man who has already calculated no doubt everything from risk factors to the impact on his grades of playing two sports.  He seems destined for baseball and reminds us of guys like Darwin Barney and Jacob Ellsbury; we have every reason to believe he can play in the MLB and may.

Today at the game just sit back, kick your feet up, and watch the show.  Tim Tawa and the Lions are coming to win and this State Title is the only thing on their minds.  We are likely to see the best game Tawa has ever put up and each play should have his signature on it.  In the hands of a masterful Coach like Chris Miller this young gun and his many targets will for sure go out swinging.

It should be quite a colorful Sunset and one you will out on the all time greats list.

Here is what this young man has done in a nutshell.

  • State’s career leader in passing yards (11,089)
  • State’s career leader in touchdown passes (141)
  • State’s career leader in completions (698)
  • He set the single-season record for passing yards (4,397) as a junior
  • He needs 3 TD’s to tie and 4 to beat Taylor Barton’s single season mark of 56 (Beaverton 1997).
