Zac Diehl A Top Recruit To Sign

Recruiting is still going strong for the boys of 2017 and that Class has some tremendous talent already committed to schools around the country.  Having said that there are even more athletes looking to find a home and one of the guys that has to be at the top of many schools hit list is Sheldon High School (OR) QB / Safety Zach Diehl.

Zach played out of position at QB this year; at least it was not his first position.  We have had him as a top Safety in the 2017 Class.  But the Irish needed a pure athlete at the QB spot and in a few practices Zach was launching the rock like an old hat.  And boy oh boy did he turn up and show out.

Watch these 10 plays for a taste at what he did this year.

Believe this.  He was one of the most productive QB’s in the Pacific NW.  He posted 2,400 yards and 25 TD’s through the air hitting 66% of this passes and he took off using his legs for 1,030 yards and 11 TD’s.  Maybe 3 or 4 guys who have been QB’s their entire careers equaled that and Zach just showed anyone watching that he can do it all.

Now the 6’1.5″, 200 lb burner owned the defensive secondary too.  He started all year at QB and then had enough gas in the tank to lay down 55 Tackles and nab 5 Interceptions starting at Safety.  Sheldon does not mess around and are a perennial power and Diehl earned himself a 1st Team All League award on D.  Watch him move to the ball and display top tier Football IQ to match his skill set.  This is some stuff right here.

He has heard from some Pac 12 schools and plenty of Big Sky schools.  He is interested in finding a home and is looking for the best fit based on the discussions we have had.  This is a Value Player – he will bring the ability to play at several positions and is a born leader.  Coaches this guy can help you win and is one to look at;  a guy who should be at the top of your list.
