Two more NW Recruits landed offers the past few days and we want to take note and congratulate them. Lake City (Idaho) stud linemen Zion Dixon and stellar 2 way athlete Jack Bamis are both Seniors and both of them landed offers from Idaho. The Vandals have been pretty quiet the last few months as have many schools so it was really nice to hear they made a move on these two. You are not going to find many athletes in the Pacific Northwest better equipped to take on the Collegiate game then these two.
Zion Dixon broke onto the scene this year as a 6’5″- 295 lb bruiser at the Northwest Elite Football Camp in Renton, Washington. He stood out to us and we have covered him a few times. The thing with Zion is he is so well put together; his 295 is not the average High School linemen’s 295. He is solid from Head to toe and it is impressive to watch him. His film is impressive and we have had him listed for a couple months as a kid that an offer would happen for and it finally did.
“Idaho got in touch with me last week. We had sent my film to them earlier this season and the coach asked me to send it again with updated footage. After that they watched they called to tell me they were making me an offer as a scholarship athlete to play for the Vandals,” said Zion. “It has taken 4 years of solid work every day to get to this point so it is a huge relief that it is going to pay off! I could not be happier.”
Now Idaho is the only school that has offered him but he has interest from Montana State, BSU, Oregon, and WSU has continued to contact him and talk to him about this future.
“This is a great offer so I will going to visit soon. I am also going to try and visit a few of the other schools before making my decision.”
At 6’5″- and 295 lbs Dixon has room to improve and get even better. His upper body is a terrific weapon and when he brings a block from his lower body the results are violent and decisive. As that flexibility and footwork is brought to the forefront at the college level he can be a top tier kid at any level. As a guard or center on the O-line we feel OSU or Oregon or the PAC 12 schools up here could use him. He is that good.
Jack Bamis plays just a few miles into Washington across the border from Dixon and had a similar situation. The Gonzaga Prep star RB and strong safety is 6’2″ and about 210 lbs. He runs a 4.55 40 and if he has 8% body fat we would be surprised; this kid is all quick twitch and explosion when he hits the field. His leaping ability is incredible and he flat out tore it up this year leading the Bull Pups to the GSL Title. He was finally stopped by Chiawana in the playoffs last week but up until that point he was really having a huge year.
Idaho was smart to come after Jack. The offer is his first but likely will not be his last. He passes the look test and looks even better on film or in person.
Jack had 1,381 yards rushing this season and was a stand out on defense as well.
“I was excited to get the offer for sure,” said Bamis. “They are recruiting me as an athlete but it seems like defense might be the best fit.”
Who will be next? Stay tuned right here as a lot of recruiting action is about to open up as Coaches go back into a contact Period this weekend!
