Last year the NW Stars Camp 2.0 featured a lot of terrific Coaches and players. Recruiting went on in each session with colleges actively pursuing the Seniors who were looking for that last chance before graduation. Many eyes were on the younger guys. NWPR and Northwest Elite Index delivered the 1-2 Punch on coverage doing interview after interview and below you will see one of them that is a prime example of why our camp coverage just works. Scout.com and others came and added to the alure of the event that last 2 seasons.
Last weekend the NW Best Showcase in Portland delivered it’s first-year camp. We heard attendance was pretty good and the coaches got what they came for but to date we have seen very little coverage if any on the camp. That is not meant to be a knock on the camp but maybe more of a distinction. Our NWPR rules for camp attendance is simple. If there are college coaches and major media at a camp you need to go if you can. No other camps or events mean much of anything in the face of that.
Coverage at the end of the day means a lot. Having pictures, interviews, film, and rosters delivered around the US means more eyes on you. Last year at the NW Stars we completed dozens of interviews and follow up stories. The video below is of Giovanni White who came into the NW Stars just a freshmen. A year later his interview has been watched 185,000 + times.
Over 25,000 people have liked, viewed, and or shared it on Facebook alone. The fact that he is now one of the premier linemen on the West Coast is related to his size and ability. But 185,000 views is a 185,000 reasons camps like this one are so important to get to!
