The 9th Annual Shriners Freedom Bowl Classic will be July 9th, 7 p.m. at Kiggins Bowl in Vancouver.
The Freedom Bowl Classic will also feature 2 Clark County Youth Football games prior to the main event at 7 with all proceeds going to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
This years squads are again packed full of talented players. Of the 83 players on the East and West rosters, 17 were 2010 GSSHFootball.com All Level All-Star First Team selections, while 12 more were Second Team selections. 65 players were selected as All-League players in 2010 including 6 Players of the Year; Union’s Zak Browning (GSHLFootball.com 4A GSHL Offensive and Defensive POY, Coaches 4A GSHL Defensive POY), Camas’ Logan Grindy (GSHLFootball.com 3A GSHL Offensive POY, Coaches 3A GSHL Offensive POY), Mark Morris’ Dan Feeney (Coaches 2A GSHL Offensive POY) and Zach Tackwell (Coaches 2A GSHL Defensive POY), Ridgefield’s Dylan Young (Coaches 1A Trico MVP) and Stevenson’s Wade Huett (Coaches 1A Trico Defensive POY). 3 players also received All-State honors. R.A. Long LB Jerry Graham was a 2A AP 1st Team LB, Union LB Zak Browning was both a Seattle Times and Tacoma News Tribune 1st Team LB, and Mark Morris RB Dan Feeney was a 2A AP Honorable Mention RB.
After one year with the East team, Battle Ground is back as a member of the West squad along with Columbia River, Fort Vancouver, Hudson’s Bay, Kelso, La Center, Mark Morris, R.A. Long, Ridgefield, Skyview, and Woodland (the Beavers don’t have any players in this years game).
Columbia High School again will be represented on the East team along with Camas, Evergreen, Heritage, Hockinson, Mountain View, Prairie, Stevenson, Union and Washougal.
