Did the recruiting net let this kid slip through so far? At 6’2″ and 221 lbs Adam Mydland has excellent size and positional strength. In many ways he is a proto-type for a collegiate middle-linebacker. But to date it seems like he has gone unnoticed. This is where we work the hardest for kids and colleges; to expose talent that is unknown for the most part and give it a chance to shine.
Watch Adam Mydland’s film here and you too will agree that there is a lot going on here with Adam.
We caught up to Mydland and he gave us a little background on his situation.
“I play with passion and a motor that does not stop. I play with an energy and intensity that is hard to find. I have a 3.56 GPA and plan on taking the SAT in December. I am a hard working, mature, intelligent and determined young man. I played for the USA National U-18 team, traveling to Texas to play last summer. Now I have been selected to play in the Dallas Cowboy Stadium as we take on Team Canada in January,” said the muscular linebacker.
“I believe I am under recruited for being the player I am, I had to switch schools last year after a bad house explosion where I almost lost my Dad. I have been through a lot but football is my passion. I love the game. I am very mature for my age, and I respect others and support everyone I know. I peer tutor a special education class to help the kids understand English. I hope to have the chance to have a my story get out there more,” said Adam. “Thank you so much for looking at my film.”
A house explosion- the story is that his house blew up – so he and his family moved. Talk about a tough kid and all. He sounds like the sort of well rounded kid any school would love to have.
Adam Benches 305, squats just under 400, and has a 31″ vertical. All solid numbers for sure.
We are pulling for him here at NWPR and are glad to be the first to bring you his story- hope you other analysts and recruiters give him a solid look as well.
