This February we were all geared up for the 2019 Avery Strong Football Showcase. Despite the staff and College Coaches traveling to the Seattle area and everyone planning to gut it out and compete in the cold, old man winter was not having it. What will be remembered as #Snowpocalypse2019 hit Seattle and the NW with a vengeance forcing the organizers to cancel the camp the night before it was to happen.
Sunday AM the camp will finally go forward at French Field in Kent, Washington and I could not be more excited. At this point, camp registration is closed and organizers are expecting about 350 competitors to compete in two sessions in front of a dozen colleges. At least 4 head college coaches will be in attendance. With all these athletes coming and the weather looking decent the camp should be a highlight of the 2019 offseason and one of the best events of the year!
I will be there and we have confirmation of 5 other major media networks in the house- this will be the type of camp I always discuss getting to. College Coaches + Major Media = Rare Camp & Must Attend!
If you are going send me your contact info and your best film. My camp coverage will be going on all month in May and I will cover as many athletes as I can. This will be an exciting weekend and filled with energy, big performances, and top athletes. For me, I am looking for my next big find- who knows maybe I can find another Kaleb McGary who went in the NFL 1st round this week. I was lucky enough to cover him first and share his story with the world when he was a 9th and 10th grader! I am at dirkknudsen@gmail.com or @NWPrepReport on Twitter! Have a great weekend and maybe I will see you at camp!
