It is hard to believe that 2012 is here and no doubt it is time for the best to get back to work. For all sports, including football, that means it is time to sharpen the skill set and knock the dust off and try and find a fit for the athletes of the Pacific Northwest.
Trying to find the time, and especially the money to do that, is not east. Even harder is trying to find the right fit with the right people. OregonPreps.com and WashingtonPreps.com have teamed up in an effort to bring our readers the best opportunities in the Pacific Northwest. That includes vetting out camps and clinics and looking closely at the personnel of the camps, their business ratings and practices, and their costs and fees.
No doubt in 2012 at the top of our list for QB’s, Wide Receivers, Tight End’s, backs, and those looking to defend them on the field are the Air One Camps. Held right on the Oregon and Washington Border on I-5 and I-84 the Camp will allow athletes from a wide radius a chance to travel and improve themselves in a Unique and productive camp.
Led by legendary QB John Charles the camps will be affordable, fast paced, and open to all comers.
Charles broke All Time Records while at Foothill Junior College throwing for 5,925 yards in two seasons after a stellar career as a California High School star at Mountainview High School in the Santa Clara Valley.
He moved on the Portland State University. In his 2 years at Portland State, he completed 63.9 percent of his passes and went 326 of 510 for 5,389 yards and 65 touchdowns against only 19 interceptions. He finished his Portland State career with an efficiency rating of 183.4! The first player in Western Football Conference history to be named player of the year twice.
John completed a perfect sweep of NCAA All-America First Teams by being selected to the USA Today All-America Team, Kodak/American Football Coaches Association, and Associated Press All-America Teams. He went on to play for the Falcon’s and Sabre Cats in limited capacity due to injuries which took their toll on him but gained experience at all levels of the game.
Even more impressive then that John was named one of five National Jefferson Award winners for Public Service in recent years.
So in the Pacific Northwest John Charles, his 23 years of Coaching experience, and his staff represent an amazing opportunity for kids to come and be coached by experience only that type of success could possibly offer.
Rivals.com and Dirk Knudsen will be at the Camps documenting the events and evaluating talent for the Nations #1 sports network. No one camp will offer more then the Air One Camp and we are excited to be invited out for the event this Sunday.
Air One is going to offer Camps every Saturday or Sunday for the foreseeable future. The first camp is this weekend. QB’s are only $40 for the two hour intensive camp and get a special bonus of bringing their team mates or friends to work the Receiver routes and other skills for FREE.
You all asked and we got your hook up here. Come work out with Paris Penn or Grant High school who is moving on to PSU as a scholarship athlete and dozens of other hard working talented kids.
Athletes are coming from as far away as Seattle to get the specialized training of John and his staff. This is a really nice and much needed addition to the current choices out there.
