Amir Metheney is simply too big to miss. The Olympia High Defensive Tackle is a legit 6’3″ and just over 300 lbs so he passes the look test for sure. There is however a lot more to this kid then just size.
We first met him last season at the NW Stars camp and have seen him compete in pads and out of pads the last year. He has nimble feet for such a big kid and a variety of moves he uses to defeat opponents. Overall his skill set is solid and rising and at the NWEFC Camp he did not disappoint earning an NWPR all Camp award.
He landed an offer recently from EWU where he could no doubt go and shine. He plans to attend the #AveryStrong RDAF Showcase June 30th where 10 Big Sky Schools will evaluate him in a 2 hour Linemen Only session as well as 10 other colleges who will be in the house. Metheny will be joined by the Daul brothers of Portland’s Jesuit High School and many other top defensive linemen looking to land an offer at the camp.
The Camp is famous as the best satellite Camp in the NW because it offers every position a separate 2 Hour Session with all the coaches while most camps launch all positions at once making it hard to get a solid look. Any one wanting to compete should attend and all the info is available at RDAFSHOWCASE.com.
