As media covering the event, some of us drove all day to get to Seattle only to find out this had to happen. This was an impossible and potentially disastrous situation. I and staff from Outside the Game were in Renton ready to go but worried for the safety of all. When the management announced their decision. As difficult and expensive as this was for us as media we had to agree. I am home safely and posted tweets and messages on the way home.
We will be in attendance when the camp goes off in March. Many college coaches were at the hotel and also were saddened but agreed with this decision. The Avery Strong Football Camp staff is posting messages on their website and twitter page. We support all of you that tried to attend and those that traveled to the area as we did. This was not a fun day- but a safe one in the end. This storm is monumental and we understand this was the right thing to do.
