Baseball 4A Finals Set to Go in Washington

The Final 4 in the state baseball championships is set for Friday and Saturday at Cheney stadium in Tacoma. We take a look at the final four matchups in the big school 4A ranks, and there are some top notch ball clubs ready to rumble for the coveted golden ball. The 4 pm game on Friday matches the Jackson Timberwolves out of Everett vs. the Redmond Mustangs.

At 7 pm the Bothell Cougars tangle with perennial 4A power the Richland Bombers out of the Tri-Cities. The losers will play in the 3rd place game at 1 pm on Saturday, with winners squaring off for the title at 7 pm.

The Jackson Timberwolves come in with a stalwart record of 24-2 and have been ranked #1 most of the season. The T-Wolves are led by their standout catcher Kyle Olson. Kyle batted .507 on the season with 6 long balls.

Sam Brown, a rocket firing junior southpaw is the leader of the mound corps for Jackson, he is also a stellar outfielder. Fellow hurlers Nick Kiel and fab freshman Jason Todd will also be counted to throw for the Wolfpack.

3rd sacker Joakim Soderquist, utility man Anthony Flatt and big bopping outfielder John Wilde will be counted on for their offensive prowess.

The Redmond Mustangs have been hotter than a firecracker as of late. The crafty Stangs (20-7) have won 6 straight loser out contests by the combined score of 59-7. The Redmond hardballers are led by Kingco M.V.P. Zach Abbruzza, a Gonzaga University recruit. Abbruzza is a fence busting catcher-pitcher-1st baseman who has 8 homers and 35 r.b.i.’s on the season.

A pair of Oregon State commits add to the Redmond ball club. Dylan Davis is a fireballing pitcher and big hitting outfielder, he is 6-2 on the mound and has hit .403 with 9 bombs and 29 runs batted in.

Michael Conforto is the Mustangs table setting shortstop. Conforto is raking the
ball at a .354 clip with 26 runs scored. Junior outfielder Peter Hendron and senior pitcher-2nd sacker TJ Whidby add to the Redmond horsepower.

The Richland Bombers are making their 5th straight trip to the 4A final four. The Bombers at 20-6 on the season also won state titles in 05′, 07′ and 09′. The Richland diamond boys are led by senior outfielder-pitcher Zach Rapacz, a 1st team all-league outfielder and 2nd team pitcher. Senior catcher Jarrod Turner was also a 1st team all conference choice for his ball roping skills.

The Bombers hottest pitchers of late have been sophomore Mason Hilty and senior gas tosser Kenton Brunson. Junior 2nd sacker Corey Morris was also an all-leaguer and has batted over .500 on the season thus far. Senior Syd Hall is another high octane pitcher and also flashes some serious leather from his shortstop spot.
