Bellarmine Prep Rising Star Erik Glueck Selected At Stanford Camp

Summer is well into session and by now most teams are either at a camp or wrapping one up.  Many of the Region’s best have moved on to individual camps and are getting one one face time with the colleges directly.  One young rising star out of Bellarmine Prep has called in some exciting news from Stanford.  2016 Linebacker prospect Erik Glueck had quite a trip and loved the camp and the vibe he was getting from the Cardinal staff.  We caught up to Erik and asked the 6’2″- 220 lb stud what the whole Stanford visit was like.

NWPR-  Erik what has been going on this Summer?  Did we hear about a big trip?

Erik: Yes!  I just got back from Stanford and had a great time at the padded camp. I met a lot of the coaches including Randy Hart the Defensive line coach and Coach Shaw!

NWPR:  Tell us about Stanford?  We know you have been gaining interest and seen some other places but what was Stanford like?

Erik:  The campus was beautiful with all of the stonework and outdoor sculptures. The players locker room, the weight room and football lounges were modern and incredible. All of it seemed surreal and I was just glad to be a part of such an extraordinary school.

NWPR: Awesome- and we know you went and competed in the actual full contact camp with the top recruits from Stanford.  What were the coaches and the camp like?

Erik:  The professionalism of all of the coaches and the organization of the camp was incredible. I liked how the coaches that were there were the actual coaches for the team. The schedule was down to the minute and they kept us moving the entire time. I really liked the fact it was a padded camp. You actually get to play football and get a better feel for it when you have your pads on.

NWPR:  Awesome!  It sounds like the camp ended well for you.  Tell our readers about what happened?

Erik:  I was asked at the end of the camp by Coach Hansen, the linebackers coach, to meet in the Andrew Luck Media Center. There were approximately 10-12 players asked and I was one of the few Juniors to be and the only linebacker. I felt honored to be in this group. We watched a highlight film of the passed seasons games. Coach Lance Anderson spoke to us about the admissions process and the high standards Stanford requires of all of their players. We went on a tour of the weight room, locker room and football lounges. They even have the only NFL locker room for returning NFL players that attended Stanford for training in the off-season. We had lunch and were told of the history and beginning of the school. I was introduced to Head Coach Shaw and Coach Randy Hart, the defensive line coach. They told me that I did a great job and they were interested and they would be keeping an eye on me. It was an incredible experience I will never forget!

NWPR:  Stanford is probably one of the 5 toughest schools in the US to get into let alone to play football for so this is pretty big for you!  Way to go.  Will you please keep us appraised of what is next for you?

Erik:  Yes I will!  Right now I am going into the gym for some intense training and to add some size and speed for the season ahead!

NWPR:  Always working!  Thanks Erik!

Erik: Thanks to you guys for all you do!

NWPR:  Of Course; you are welcome.

Erik Glueck is a stud.  The kid can run and hit.  His film and profile were posted at NWPR by our partners at PremierProspect.com who sent it out to colleges around the country and Erik has gone no schools recruiting him to as many as 15.  Something he shared with us earlier this Summer.

“I think the Premier Prospect profile has helped exponentially! And mailing the coaches has probably been a huge factor also.  Thank you guys for all of your help! My GPA is 4.0, and additional schools of interest now are Notre Dame, Stanford, Oregon, Washington, UCLA, USC, Boise State, Michigan, Ohio, Nevada, Penn State, and Boston College. Thank you very much!”

Erik’s Premier Prospect Profile Page is shared at NWPR and one of many listed at our site.   His profile and all the profiles in the program list all the athletes info and contact info and are sent out several times a year to colleges around the US at every level.
