Cole Ford was one of the many big names that came into the Northwest Elite Football Camp June 6th looking to impress. People knew about the big agile Tight End from Bothell High School but an injury last season kept him from producing the body of work he might have needed to really go all the way and land offers. Coming into the camp his name was one of several that analysts had batted about as being a top prospect at the position. His performance during the camp solidified that and took him to the next level as well.
Big man Cole Ford out ran and out hustled the defenders at the NWEFC to win a camp MVP and has followed that up with offers!
It did not take long after his performance there for him to land his first offer. The Grizzlies of Missoula, Montana have been hot on our best athletes for years and moved in on him making him an offer. So we caught up to the Cougar to find out how he was feeling!
“Yeah the offer is amazing to get! It was totally out of the blue , like I hadn’t even talked to Montana at all before Fridays (NWEFC) camp. Then the coach gave me his card and told me to call so I did the next day and we talked for a bit then he messaged me saying they have an offer for me,” confirming these camps make a huge difference in the recruitment of athletes.
After the offer we discussed Cole’s schedule; one aimed at getting him in front of Coaches and decision makers.
“As far as my schedule for the rest of the summer I’m focusing on finishing team ball then going to the Idaho Vandals and Eastern Washington camps and then to visit Montana!”
This is what we always preach so listen up recruits! Get to camps with college coaches like the Northwest Elite Football Camp or better yet get to a college camp and pad up and show what you got. No other event(s) will ever replace this strategy and most can be classified as a waste of both time and money if not run by Major Media like Rivals.
Updating this Montana offer Cole reported last night that he had in fact landed offer #2 from the Idaho Vandals. On his Facebook and Twitter he exclaimed –
“Just received my second offer today! #d1 #blessed #vandal“
Surely he may have more to follow these great offers. Cole Ford has transformed himself into a Top Tier Tight End and has been gifted with size and speed that most players do not have. His path to success has been well thought through and executed upon and we want to congratulate him on such a great job so far.
He laid down a 4.7 laser 40 at the SPARQ Combine and that showcased what the 6’5″- 240 lb monster can do-
Will bigger offers be out there? Hard to say but there is no reason why not. With his incredible Quarterback Ross Bowers (D1 Offers- The Opening Invite) and his fellow receivers Jackson Keimig and Dayzell Wilson in the house (both Top Recruits) the Blue Train of Bothell is firing on all pistons. Ford will have many eyes on him from the opening kick off!
